Why This Project Matters
Recently I moved to New York City to work for the largest Sunday School Ministry in the world (Metro World Child). People who I have been ministring to are slowly becoming great friends of mine, and even some have called me as their own family. But over time being here for as long as I have, I have begun to notice and hear of how many children have never seen large bodies of water, like the ocean or rivers. They have never had that chance to trace the stars with their finger and say, "Look! It's a dog!" They have never experienced the real beauty of nature, God's creation. Their world is all about big buildings and towers, constant sounds of traffic and trains, and the horrific odors from drugs and alcohol. It seems a lot of times there is no real peace in their life. Through Camp Extreme, though, it gives us a chance to take kids from their usual everyday life and place them in an environrment that is different - where they can be encouraged, where they can be given the love they deserve, where they can have the time to finally be able to be kids again. These few days will give them a chance to really experience God and help them see who He is in a new light and to place something special in their hearts that will not only be there for a few days, but will stick with them for the rest of their lives. But this cannot be possible without your help. Take action today to make a difference in not just some stranger's life but the people who call me their own; people who are now in my life family.
