Why This Project Matters

Summer Camp is one of my favorite times of year, because we literally get to take up to 750 children from the inner city of New York to our Camp grounds and have a life changing experience with them! For some of these kids it is the first time that they may see stars, wildlife, or walk in the forest and experience God's love first hand!

For many of the kids that I have personally taken in the past years, it is a experience they NEVER forget and that stays with them for years - they can recall their camp team, the cheers they made, the favorite activity and their favorite meal.

I would like to talk about one boy in specific that was in my cabin a few years ago. When he first came, his attitude was not the best and he was always creating problems! But after the first night of chapel something changed in him. We ended up speaking on the bench for a few minutes and he shared with me that he had experienced God's love for the first time in his life and that he KNEW that God loved him, and as we looked at the sunset, he said "God did that for me! To keep showing me his love!"

He truly experienced God, and every night and morning he would grab my Bible and begin to read from Genesis 1 forward. By the end of camp, (3 days later) he had read close to half the book of Genesis!

This is the potential that camp has to make a difference in the life of a child! I urge you to consider walking alongside us in making a diference and help send 3 kids to camp this year!

About Metro World Child Medical Fund

Every day, kids wait for people like you to say, “There’s hope. There are people who love you. Jesus loves you.” A child is waiting for a sponsor right now, and it’s so easy to get started. It’s a small gift, but it changes lives in ways you won’t believe until you get started. Would you help by sponsoring today?
